Protecting the transplanted area and following your aftercare plan are important in the early period.
HAIRZONE / PATIENT GUIDE
Your care, step by step.
Adapted from our post-operative care document. These timings describe the clinic's care protocol; your doctor's personal instructions take priority.
01FIRST 5–12 DAYSEarly days and protecting the transplant area+
- Eat a low-salt diet for the first 5 days and follow your doctor's fluid-intake advice.
- Swelling may occur in the first days. Keep your head upright and avoid bending forward.
- For the first 10–12 days, until the scabs fall off, protect the area from impacts, rubbing and scratching.
- Do not wear a hat, bandana, helmet or beanie before the designated scab-care day.
- Until the scabs fall off, sleep on your back with the supplied neck pillow and avoid dusty or dirty environments.
02FROM THE START DATE SET BY YOUR TEAMDaily washing+
- The clinic guide describes one wash daily for 10 days. Confirm the first wash and bandage removal date with your team; follow instructions before cutting a bandage yourself.
- Apply a thin layer of the supplied moisturising spray only to the transplanted area and wait 20–30 minutes.
- Rinse off the spray with lukewarm, low-pressure water, then apply foam shampoo.
- Apply shampoo to the transplant and donor areas with gentle dabbing motions, without rubbing.
- Rinse with lukewarm, low-pressure water. Pat dry gently with a paper towel without rubbing.
03ONLY ON THE DAY APPROVED BY YOUR TEAMScab care+
- Do not pick scabs early. Confirm the timing and method of scab care with your team.
- On the approved care day, apply moisturising spray to the transplanted area, wait 40–50 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
- The guide describes circular motions with a clean cloth or cotton pad. Use only the pressure and method demonstrated by your team; do not force removal.
- After the scabs come off, clean with shampoo. Follow your team's guidance before introducing massage during washing.
- According to the guide, moisturising spray is no longer needed after scab removal. When the supplied shampoo runs out, discuss a suitable baby or pharmacy shampoo with your team.
04FIRST 3 MONTHSExercise, sweating and swimming+

- Limit excessive sweating for the first 3 months. If you sweat, gently dab with a clean tissue moistened with clean water, without rubbing.
- Once hats are permitted after scab removal, choose a loose one and avoid wearing it long enough to cause sweating. Avoid hours of intense sun.
05FIRST 6 MONTHSHaircuts, products and heat+
- The clinic guide permits trimming the donor area after day 15. It advises avoiding clippers on the transplant area for 6 months and using scissors if needed.

- Avoid very hot environments such as hammams and saunas for 6 months; protect your head from impacts.
06FROM WEEKS TO MONTHSThe hair growth journey+
